A note from the organisers
Sending an Operative to the Theatre of Shadows is not much different from taking them to football, Scouts, dance practice or any other organized activity. Operatives will be under the supervision of trained, Garda-vetted chaperones at all times, whose role is to ensure that everybody has a great time and feels safe.
Theatre of Shadows is run by professionals with more than 20 years experience in participatory children’s events. Our primary goal is to give every Operative an amazing and memorable day in Dublin.
On the day, Operatives will dive into the universe of Derek Landy’s Skulduggery Pleasant books. Theatre of Shadows will take them in small groups on a mission through the historic landmarks and backstreets of Dublin. The event lasts for approximately 2.5 hours.
Start / Finish
Details of our central Dublin venue and starting point will be released to ticket holders only by email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This will be a staggered event of 2.5 hours, between 14.00 and 18.00 on Saturday 27th September 2014. You will be notified of each Operative’s start time by email and an end time will be provided on arrival at the start venue.
Unfortunately, parents cannot participate in Theatre of Shadows along with Operatives. (It’s difficult to save the world if mum or dad is right beside you.)
Weather and Clothing
Please make sure your Operative is wearing appropriate clothing for both indoor and outdoor activities.
Each Operative MUST carry with them a parent / guardian contact phone number.
Operatives are responsible for their own belongings. If anything is lost on the day please contact Theatre of Shadows staff at the event, or firstname.lastname@example.org afterwards.
Operatives in awesome costumes are, of course, welcome and encouraged.
Route / Programme
Theatre of Shadows is an immersive adventure. As such the route needs to be kept top secret. If you have any concerns about access / activities please contact the organisers: email@example.com.
Please notify the event’s organisers when booking tickets if you or your Operative should require disabled access or assistance.
This is an event primarily aimed at 13 years and up, although there is no upper age limit. Any younger Operatives should participate online instead.
My child is coming on their own and is worried…
Every element of the event is supervised and we ensure that no Operative will be left out!
Theatre of Shadows will take place in central Dublin, we will share the exact location with ticket holders over email very soon.
Please consult: http://www.visitdublin.com/ if needed.
A light ‘tea’ of refreshments will be provided for all participants; not a full meal.
Can I watch?
You can’t watch, but Dublin is a beautiful city, feel free to explore and return at the designated time. Or read a book!
